Folkling Home | November

Fall is here and, like many of you, I am in nesting mode. The colder months always cause me to draw inward. As much as I love and prefer to be outside, I can’t resist my human nature to gravitate towards that which evokes feelings of warmth and familiarity as soon as the temperature starts dropping.

For me, September always brings with it a creative rush of energy and inspiration, but as autumn settles in and winter approaches, I find myself craving routines and spending more time in reflection and attempting to slow down before the end of the year so as to fully enjoy it.

Indeed, much of my home is centered around slowness.
For it is the mantra that I try to live by more often than not. It is why I live alternatively, why I am particular about the things I let into my life and my home.
Why many purchases and routines that are normal for many are excluded from my day-to-day.
Why I work as hard and fast as I do— so that there can be more expansive moments and spaces for pauses and slowing.

This collection of vintage homewares and handmade goods was curated with those ideals in mind.
Tools to help you find the art in slowing your morning.
Textiles to keep you warm in the brisk early hours of your day.
Vessels to showcase the last vestiges of color-filled nature that you bring in to adorn your mantel.
A good book or two to curl up with in the evenings after a long day of work.

I hope you enjoy looking at these pieces.
Each was found and made with heart and all carry the storied potential for adding beautiful layers to your home.
