This is a beautiful antique French festoon valance dating to around late 19th-early 20th century. It would have been used as a bed valance and hung from a ciel de lit above a chateau bed! This pattern is just incredible, printed using hand blocks.
There are reds, greens, blues and pinks. This textile still has the rusted tacks at the top from the original hanging! So wonderful (But do be careful! ) It once was trimmed but the trim has since been damaged with time.

Spots of fading throughout the valance. Fraying and loss to trim. 8” of trim has come unattached from the curtain at one end. Surface dirt from storage from previous owner.
