Reversible 19th c. Madder Stripe Skirt

$508.00
sold out

If there is one thing we love— It’s a reversible garment. It feels like getting two garments in one!
This is a remarkable heritage piece, 19th century, made of a madder stripe cotton. Both inside and outside feature a different madder stripe print. I believe the batting is wool. A wool sweep binding on the bottom edge. It is hand quilted in horizontal parallel lines 1.5 to 3 inches apart. Original ties at the waist and there are 2 shoulder straps attached.
(This may have been a maternity accommodation.)

A beautiful and highly wearable garment.

D E T A I L S

Waist: 14” (ties could be loosened for larger, if another layer was worn underneath)

38” bust
26” waist
