This quilt came from an estate in Bowdon Georgia and resembles the remarkable works of art created in Gee’s Bend. Though its found proximity would hint at it, we have no official provenance. Nevertheless a beautiful improvisational work of art that looks beautiful hung on a wall.
It was likely made sometime mid 20th century.

C O N D I T I O N
Selling as found. Several seam separations throughout. A few spots of discoloration across white pieces. An area of surface dirt. An area of tears on backing of quilt around 2”.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
