Late 1800s Silk Maine Quilt

$340.00
sold out

A stunning work of art. This late 1800s silk pieced quilt with gorgeous brown calico backing would look incredible displayed on a wall as the work of art it is, or on a gently used bed.

Found somewhere on the coast of Maine.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: Machine pieced and hand quilted with cotton batting

Weight: Lighter weight

Measurements laid flat: 75” x 73”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

C O N D I T I O N

Useable but slightly fragile condition due to the age of the silks. Has wuite a few tears in the patchwork and some silks of deteriorated due to the dye process used at that time on certain fabrics. Would still look stunning displayed on a wall or as a cover on your bed.

Most importantly
: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒  This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

—☽☼— All sales are final —☼☽—

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the  listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
