Late 19th c. Whole Cloth Quilt

$258.00
sold out

This quilt is one that we rescued from inside of a tattered floral fabric piece that had been sewn over top of it to “save” it. A common practice in the early days of quilting— use an old worn out quilt as batting for the next one.
It was a long recovery and restoration process, unearthing it from the crazy floral covering, but the reward of this beautiful subtle quilt felt worth it.
We love the beautiful interior fabric which has a gauzy muslin quality. A piece that would look really beautiful layered or styled with other textiles.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: Treadle machine quilted

Weight: Heavy

Measurements laid flat: 71” x 56”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!

C O N D I T I O N

Has wear throughout, a few loose threads, raw edges where the binding has worn away to the batting. Over all sound and usable!

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

—☽☼— All sales are final —☼☽—

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
