1850s The Lady Finger Quilt

This quilt is partially pieced and partially appliquéd . It has a very generous amount of wear and would serve best as a decorative piece on a wall or bed. The condition of this piece is what some might deem as a “cutter quilt”. However, we cannot bring our selves to cut this one as we have never seen anything like it and think that this work of art should be preserved and cherished. It also has some very sweet black quilting thread in some spots.
A remarkable and rare pattern, this one is definitely hard for us to let go…

Wear to almost all of the patchwork where the batting is showing. All edges are worn and without binding. To reiterate, some people might deem this a “cutter quilt” but we can’t bring ourselves to cut it because it is an absolute work of art. Best used for display.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
