Early Make-Do Hand Quilted Petticoat
A remarkable and beautiful hand quilted petticoat circa 19th century. Wear right side out or inside out. Both have beautiful patina and storied mends.
This one is especially unusual and unique as it was seemingly actually made from an old quilt, vs. specifically made and quilted as a skirt. Some lovely original mends, as well as a mend that was original to the homespun fabric the quilt was made from. Multiple layers of make-do-ness!
A wonderful and rare piece of make-do clothing.
