19th Century Make-Do Denim Quilt

$558.00
sold out

A spectactular piece that we are having a hard time letting go of.
Likely made sometime in the 1940s-1950s, as it is largely made from 1940s denim and also has a 1940s-1950s USN sweatshirt in the back of the quilt that we sure wish we’d found before it was cut up!
Not actually quilted or secured to the back, this was definitely a piece made out of neccessity. An incredible make-do storied work that deserves to be showcased on a wall.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: hand pieced

Weight: medium

Measurements laid flat: 66” x 80”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!

C O N D I T I O N

Not quilted and not fully square, with large separations in the seams that connect the front and back layers. Discolorations and smaller holes throughout the front and back, especially in a few particular workwear fabrics.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

—☽☼— All sales are final —☼☽—

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
