19th c. Doll 'Clarice' With Feedsack Dress

This little gal is named Clarice, and the fourth 19th century doll in a series of dolls that we have made individual garments for each month, in tandem with our months theme.

This months theme was Make Do, featuring a wide variety of special feedsack garments and mended clothing and folk art.
So of course Clarice’s outfit was inspired by that theme.

The feedsack used has printed places from a variety of points throughout the south, including—
Richmond, VA
Norfolk, VA
Statesville, NC
Flowery Branch, GA
Calhoun, GA
N. Little Rock, AR

Sawdust filled body
Completely hand stitched dress from feedsack remnants.
Measures 8 3/4” tall

This is a vintage or antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind that all vintage and antique pieces have little imperfections that reflect the story and charm of the piece.
