1940s Wedding Ring Quilt

$325.00
sold out

If you have been following along with us, you surely know by now that we use quilts around here in many other ways than just to keep us warm at night. We feel this piece is just destined to be displayed on a wall as art or it would certainly also be lovely for a photo backdrop.

The Wedding Ring quilt pattern has long symbolized love and marriage with its interlocking rings. Quilts of this pattern were traditionally made by mothers and grandmothers for their children and given as gifts on their wedding day or anniversaries.

A more common pattern, but despite that and its wear, this is one of our favorite renditions we’ve seen yet. The rose colored cotton background sets off the calico piecework beautifully.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: hand pieced and hand quilted

Weight: medium

Measurements laid flat: 70” x 78”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

C O N D I T I O N
This quilt has seen some adventures and is a wounded bird but still in useable condition. Two edges have fabric borders that were added at a later date. Exposed batting and missing piece work mostly towards the edge of the quilt. Some fading to rose-pink background and faint spots of discoloration on the front. The back has faint discoloration marks along fold creases due to previous storage.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

—☽☼— All sales are final —☼☽—

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
