1930s Japanese Fireman's Jacket
An indigo dream with sashiko, and what is possibly known as katazome (a form of resist dyeing with stencils) waterwheel lining, this heirloom piece is truly priceless. Known as a Hikeshi-Banten (fireman’s coat) this is one of the most remarkable iterations we have ever seen.
The pattern on the lining looks stunning worn in reverse on the outside as well.
A piece to wear and treasure for the rest of your days.
