1900s Black Amish Crib Quilt

$498.00

This beautiful Amish crib quilt is one of the best we’ve come across, truly presents as a dynamic modern work of art. With a deep solid black background, and plum hued border, it bears a traditional plain design not often found in crib quilts.
There is a center star design quilted on a grid ground, with serpentine designs quilted in the borders, all at 7 stitches to the inch. The back is a solid gray fabric (looks like work clothing), the hand stitched binding is the same brown used in the interior, and the batting is thin. The elegant simplicity makes this traditional Amish collector’s piece stand out — it would make a terrific wall hanging!

Excellent condition, with a couple of small spots at the edge of the binding and no wear.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
