1899 Pennsylvania Tulip Cheddar Appliqué Quilt

$898.00
sold out

An incredible heirloom circa 1899 the likes of which we have not come across before.
This cheddar and turkey red Pennsylvania Tulip appliqué quilt has a very seasonally appropriate back. Comprised of fugitive green and turkey red bars, this quilt is stunning on both sides!
It’s also not often you find that much cheddar (the common name for the gold color cotton found in the body of the quilt) in one quilt!

Included with this quilt is a note from one of the family members of the maker dated 1951.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: Machine pieced, hand appliqued, hand quilted

Weight: Light

Measurements laid flat: 79” x 79”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!

C O N D I T I O N

Incredible condition - a few small brown discoloration spots on the front, some discoloration around the edges of the quilt where the batting has moved away, one lighter discoloration spot on the back, general darker discoloration to the red stripes on the back, and a few spots of wear to threads between pieces.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
