Late 19th-very early 20th century turkey red and white cotton in a four block pattern with exquisite hand quilting throughout. Truly incredible when studied and taken in in person. Rich texture and hand quilting which can also be appreciated from the backside. The binding is turkey red with a tiny yellow and black flower print.
A very unusual and rare quilt, this is a very special and true collector’s piece.

C O N D I T I O N
Overall beautiful and very sturdy and usable. There are scattered spots of discoloration. There is a small area where the threads have popped along the binding. The turkey red is threadbare in some areas. One corner is cropped and appears to have been so from the start, or it might have been damaged and repaired long ago.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
