1890s Double Irish Chain Quilt

$650.00
sold out

This 1890s-1910 Double Irish Chain quilt is one for the books to be sure.
One of the loveliest we’ve come across, it has the rare and beautiful original makers marks (the pencil line guides that can be found underneath the quilting stitches) which lends to the fact that this quilt was never used because it would have been washed, erasing the original makers marks. It is in pristine condition save for a faint spot at one end. It is true collectors gold and a once in a lifetime find.
Looks incredible on a bed with its array of blue and white calico prints.

D E T A I L S

Machine pieced and beautifully hand quilted.

A nice lighter weight quilt for the transition in seasons.

Measurements laid flat:

92” x 73”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

C O N D I T I O N

In very gorgeous collectors condition. Has one spot at one end, as shown in the photos. No tears or other flaws to note. In truly remarkable condition.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒  This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact me via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the  listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
