1880s Pomegranate Appliqué Quilt
A true collectors piece. This rare pattern is a variation between the Pomegranate and The Ladies Dream.
Vegetable dyed fabric makes up the applique work. The light blue piecework was likely green at one time but has since faded. Honestly, we prefer this color play and variation and think it compliments the overall quilts storied history. A very remarkably pieced border that is not often seen, which is where a very charming heart calico resides.
Amazing and very intricate hand quilting, we see more new details every time we examine this quilt.
One we almost kept, certainly a hard one to let go of.

C O N D I T I O N
Almost perfect condition! One larger spot of discoloration towards edge, very faint discoloration throughout on the back but no other flaws to note.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
