1880s Streak of Lightning Quilt

$958.00

An unusual zig-zag "Streak of Lightning" design in this patchwork quilt. This wonderfully modern antique quilt was published in the book "Of Cloth & Thread, Pieces of the Past" by Kaye England (2012, Quiltmania/France) and is from Kaye England's personal collection.
This 100% cotton quilt could be considered reversible because it has a pieced back, parallel bars design. One of our personal favorite details to find in a quilt.
It has a label on the back with a name, either the maker or the owner.
We don't see quilts like this one every day. Would make a wonderful wallhanging and would work well with a variety of decor styles including modern.

In good condition with patina from age and soil. Otherwise sturdy and fabrics in good condition.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
