1880s Square In a Square Calico Bars Quilt

$498.00

When a quilt has two sides that are equally compelling— it feels like getting two quilts in one!
This 19th century beauty has a beautiful collection of mid to late 19th c. calicos, a wonderful collectors piece and textile for study. Lovely autumnal shades for this time of year, with bright and vibrant bars backing that we think is just as stunning as the front.

The bars backed side is very sound, no flaws to note, the front has some various shattering in some of the blocks from the older fabrics, some exposing the bating, there are several places along the edges where the back attaches to the front that has come undone. Could mend if desired or leave. Overall presents very beautifully.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
