1880s Red & White Rob Peter To Pay Paul Quilt

$498.00

The red calicos that make up this quilt are incredibly beautiful, as well as the leaf printed brown calico back that likely dates sometime in the 1860s-1870s. Hand quilted at 9 stitches to the inch.
Our favorite detail however of this beauty is the Intricate hand appliquéd saw tooth border that has been intricately hand stitched all the way around the entire quilt. A true beauty and very special rendition of this popular pattern.

Has discoloration throughout, and the whole cloth back has significant wear, mostly at edges, exposing batting. Still presents beautifully, but would be best used for show on a bed vs. everyday use, or hung on a wall.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
