1880s Indigo Calico Irish Chain Quilt
This quilt is one of the most exceptional in this collection. The hand quilting is immaculate, and not something to be skipped over. A fantastic heirloom for a bed, whether one in use every day, or a guest bed in your home.
We have had this one in our personal stack for a long time, but it deserves being used and loved more routinely. The variety of blue calicos that make up the piecework, along with the triple border and minutely hand bound edge are something to be admired.

You have to really hunt to find anything wrong with this quilt. It presents as perfection. Some slight fraying at some areas of the binding, and a few pin spots, a very usable quilt and sturdy for its age.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
