1880s Economy Block Blue Homespun Backed Quilt
The blue homespun back of this quilt is truthfully our favorite thing about this one. We would use it with that side out! That being said, it is rare to come across quilts with black calico, and this one is very special and beautiful in that way. A great candidate if you’re looking for a darker textile to style in a corner of your home.
D E T A I L S
How it’s made: Hand pieced, hand quilted
Weight: medium, cotton batting
Measurements laid flat: 70” x 72”
Shown on a standard Full size bed.
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!
C O N D I T I O N
This quilt is sturdy and usable overall, though the brown cross piece calicos have shattered in many of the blocks and exposing the batting in some places.
The brown calicos have also bled in some places and the binding at the edge is frayed here and there. The back is very solid and sound and presents beautifully.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
