1880 Compass Star Quilt

⋒ This compass star patterned quilt has an array of gorgeous fabrics from 1880-1910 including some cheddar, calicos and (my personal favorite) some beautiful feedsacks that make up the backing.
It’s a captivating one for sure!

In absolutely gorgeous and useable condition. Has a few spots of discoloration throughout and some stains on the back that may have been original to the feedsacks used for the backing. There is also some slight past bleeding on some of the red fabrics from improper washing long ago.

Only condition: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

Machine stitched piecing and hand stitched quilting.

Perfect to take with you on your next adventure or cozy up on a cold day at home.
