1870s Feathered Star Quilt
This quilt is truly exceptional. An ocean of calm and beautiful exact quilting with precise piecework. Definitely one that almost stayed with us!
It is comprised of 21 8.5 inch solid white squares, set on point, 3 by 7, staggered, with white setting triangles. The feathered star is created by the 4 inch wide sashing which is pieced with indigo print squares and triangles. There is a 2" indigo print inner border and a 3.5" white outer border. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front, and applied by hand.

It is in remarkable condition with only a few very small spots. Very sturdy and usable.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
