1870s Barn Raising Log Cabin Quilt
A visually stunning and impressive mid nineteenth century quilt that has seen some wear and love over the years but is still a remarkable work of art.
From a collector in Palmyra, VA.
D E T A I L S
How it’s made: Hand pieced and hand quilted
Weight: Medium
Measurements laid flat: 67” x 80”
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!
C O N D I T I O N
Several areas of wear across the quilt, exposing the backing. Several seam separations and wear across binding. Overall, slight discoloration and spots of fading. In somewhat fragile shape. Not fit for everyday use, more-so for a hung piece of art.
Does not have a formal backing, it may have been removed at some point.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
