This French beauty has the most beautiful floral fabric front, and sweet peach leaf printed back with charming scalloped edge (we really love scallops around here).
This piece would have traditionally been used on a small day bed, but its smaller size allows for it to be used in a variety of places.
There is a seam separation at the center (possibly intentional, by a previous owner wanting to see what was inside) and you can see through the hole a much earlier 1700's fabric! A very special storied piece.
So it was covered over by the 19th century fabric later in its life. Very common in France as they were both frugal and design conscious.

C O N D I T I O N
This lovely quilt is freshly laundered and ready to use! This quilt has signs of time and use commensurate with age. There are some pale marks that didnt' fully wash. There are the holes on the front, these can be hand sewn closed easily. Overall sturdy and beautiful.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
