1860s Octagon Quilt

$650.00
sold out

This 1860s octagon patterned quilt is perfect for getting cozy on a cooler evening. This quilt features very striking red and brown wool fabrics on the front and an incredibly soft brown calico backing with a maroon cotton fabric edge repair. The braided edging, which is machine stitched, was repaired in a later decade and is younger in age than the rest of the quilt.

D E T A I L S

Machine pieced with hand stitched quilting

Measurements laid flat:

79” x 77”

C O N D I T I O N
Brown calico backing has wear throughout and has caused some of the batting to be exposed in places. A few small holes throughout which is to be expected from a quilt of this age. Most of the wear is on the fold storage lines and does not hinder use of the quilt. Still in good condition and can be used and enjoyed for years to come.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
