1850s Tulip Quilt Top

$188.00

This unfinished quilt top was found in an attic trunk and has a fair amount of damage from storage but is still a remarkably beautiful work of textile artistry. The pink calico is likely from around the 1830s and though the green is from a later date, as you all know — You date a quilt based on the most recent fabric that’s in it!

It is quite delicate and we recommend hanging it on the wall to display as art, use as a photo backdrop or backing it with a stronger fabric and using it as a curtain in a doorway. Lovely rose pink and kelly green calicos.
Flip it over and admire the array of beautiful and even hand stitches!

Unfinished quilt top that is extremely delicate. Several holes and damage to all edges and throughout center. Would be best used as display and is probably too fragile to finish into a quilt.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
