1850s Prairie Flower Quilt

$1,200.00
sold out

From North Carolina, this quilt is absolutely breathtaking and one of the most incredible we have found. This pattern is also known as "Rose Tree" or "Missouri Rose", having nine whole and three half pattern round blocks in solid red and yellow fabrics and double pink and green-blue print fabrics on white ground.
With outline and channeled echo quilting, plain white "X"-form sashing with foliate motif quilting, all four sides with bud flower border having outline and channeled quilting, applied binding, four-paneled plain backing. Mid 19th century.
An incredible heritage heirloom.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: Hand quilted and hand pieced

Weight: Medium

Measurements laid flat: 82" x 99"

Shown on a standard Full size bed.
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!

C O N D I T I O N
Mostly in very good visual condition except for scattered moderate to heavy toning/discoloration due to dye bleed from the brown thread used to quilt sections of blue piecework, top with some stains and spotting, some light fading notably to pink fabric, one center block with a few holes to red fabric on floret, a few other small holes on the white ground fabric, binding with a few tears and some small holes, backing also with stains and spotting. In overall very sturdy and usable condition.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
