1830s Whig Rose Appliqué Quilt

$1,800.00
sold out

There are no words for this once-in-a-lifetime quilt that is museum quality in its beauty. Dating back to sometime in the 1830s-1860s timeframe, this quilt is in incredible condition for its age.
The hand quilting is beyond intricate and it has two rare and very early calicos that are in stunning condition throughout the quilt as well as the acid green cotton that makes up the vines and stems of the flowers.
A true collectors piece.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: hand appliquéd and hand quilted

Weight: light to medium

Measurements laid flat: 95” x 96”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

C O N D I T I O N
Outfitted with two sleeves on the back for easy hanging that can also be easily removed if so desired. A few very small pin sized spots of discoloration on the front and back that are hardly noticeable. Over all in remarkable condition.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.

—☽☼— All sales are final —☼☽—

We want you to love your vintage finds, so please look through the photos and read the listing description carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions before purchasing, as we do not accept returns.

Thank you for understanding!
