1830s Garden Maze Sun Quilt
Where to even begin in regards to the magnificence of this quilt? Very early indigos and blues in this one in a pattern never seen before and is possibly a creation of the maker. This one almost stayed in our collection.
One of the earlier quilts we’ve had in the most stunning and remarkable condition.
Beautiful quilting at 6 stitches to the inch.
When we say that this is a rare collectors piece it feels like an understatement, this one belongs in a museum.

How it’s made: Hand quilted and hand pieced.
Weight: Medium, cotton batting
Measurements laid flat: 89” x 100”
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!

Absolutely stunning condition for its age. The only notable flaw is that there is some discoloration from age and minor fading here and there. The perceived “yellowing” on some of the alternating blocks, is actually the faded print of the fabric and presents more beautifully in person. Otherwise truly remarkable and a real museum worthy piece
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
