Where to even begin in regards to the magnificence of this quilt?
One of the earlier quilts we’ve had in the most stunning and remarkable condition.
To see chintz fabric this early and in tact is a rarity and something very special to be sure, but the tiny indigo star dotted cotton that makes up the binding is also very special. Beautiful quilting at 7-8 stitches to the inch.
The back is entirely homespun linen which is amazing.
When we say that this is a rare collectors piece it feels like an understatement, this one belongs in a museum.

How it’s made: Hand quilted, hand pieced
Weight: Medium, cotton batting
Measurements laid flat: 92” x 90”

C O N D I T I O N
Absolutely stunning condition for its age. The only notable flaw is that some of the chintz stars have breakage due to their age, and are exposing some batting. Otherwise truly remarkable and a real museum worthy piece.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
