1800s Water Lily French Quilt
This gorgeous French cretonne cotton water lily whole cloth quilt is a very special collectors piece.
A rare find with valances on the side, the center is entirely quilted by hand and encases a thick wool batting.
Backed in a nutmeg colored fabric.
The floral body of the quilt has such beautiful colors— blushes and pinks, chartreuse, deep eggplant and. lovely neutrals.
You could take the valances off to make a bed skirt, matching pillows, or even a curtain for the same room as the quilt if desired.

How it’s made: Hand quilted
Weight: Heavy
Measurements laid flat: This quilted middle section measures approximately 94” by approx. 53”
Each valance is about 53” long by 20” deep
Shown on a standard Queen size bed.
If you’d like to hang your quilt, we recommend our locally made Folkling Quilt Clips!

There are a few holes on the floral side, but the backing has various splits in the fabric up at the top and some marks. Overall presents beautifully, and is sturdy and usable.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
