Folkling Field Trip | Ironside Cabin

Nestled in the woods on seventeen acres in Tennessee is a tiny cabin on a river.

This cabin was the dream of Caitlin and Jason of Ironside Studio. Built with wood from the land, the cabin is nothing short of a dreamy getaway.

Caitlin, dressed in vintage overalls and an Edwardian top, greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around the property. We hadn’t seen any photos of the place, and while our expectations were already high from Caitlins description of it over the phone, they were far exceeded seeing everything in person.

One of the things we have loved most about having the Folkling brick and mortar in Gordonsville is the community we’ve discovered since being here.

From the locals-turned-regulars that come say hi every weekend, to the fellow shop owners who are always supporting and cheering us on in one form or another. It’s a small town so you can’t walk to the post office without seeing someone you know, but that’s one of our favorite things about it.

Some of you may just be immersing yourselves in it for the first time.

Whichever it is we hope you enjoy watching the unfolding.

The unfolding of two people and a story based in finding possibility and beauty in that which is often overlooked.

It felt fitting to hit The Road to document these coats, for that is where we found most of them, albeit in a different form.

Driving down favorite and familiar routes, pausing at seemingly broken places and finding beauty in them. So it was with the textiles that were transformed into these garments.
